In the past I taught a variety of courses, including Business Strategy and Innovation, and Management of Tourist Organizations (at KU Leuven), and Tourist Behaviour, Cultural Heritage Management, Tourism Research, Tourism Planning & Development, and Contemporary Topics in Tourism (at Auckland University of Technology). Currently I am teaching Sustainable Business Management in Tourism (at KU Leuven).
Sustainable Business Management in Tourism
The course is part of the Master in Tourism Programme of KU Leuven (https://www.kuleuven.be/opleidingen/master-toerisme) and focuses on improving sustainable management in tourism settings beyond legal requirements and covering three levels: the macro-level, strategic level, and operational level. Principles and methods included are CSR and ESG reporting, CO2 footprint analysis, social return on investment, life cycle analysis, and circular economic processes, and short/local supply chains.
